Process Breakdown
Summer of Words was a Words With Friends event that ran throughout summer and offered special community challenges and exclusive in-game rewards. There were three events that ran throughout the campaign, each inspired by a different summer playlist: Friendiversary Jams, Puzzle Pump-Up, and Chill & Skill. The video I made was posted to announce that the game was halfway through the Chill & Skills challenge. A warm color palette paired with synthwave-inspired visuals were used to reinforce a sense of summer energy and leisure with players.
Letter Lock was a new puzzle mode introduced inWords With Friends where players manipulate columns of letters to create valid words. The ad was simple in its aim as it showed off new gameplay that was now available to players.
