[NOT MINE] Vienna Pitts' T-shirt design
If you saw my Nairvana project then I suppose it can be said that I have a penchant for coming up with fake brands. In this project, Debonair is a creative agency employing a range of creatives from illustrators to 3D artists. The assets in this project were either drawn in Procreate or created in After Effects and are supposed to be stickers that artists can resonate with. I was inspired by Vienna Pitts' (3rd photo on the left) "Fix it in pre!" t-shirt. Their design took a comical approach to highlighting the frustrations a lot of VFX artists feel.
As an artist, I already had some quibbles in mind relating to life in the creative field and I knew I wanted to replicate a grunge design style. Since I didn't have a concrete idea for what the "grunge" style would look like, I scavenged Pinterest to create a board filled with pieces that aligned with what I wanted to do.
The animation aspect of this project was minimal as a lot of time went towards creating or drawing up the designs. However, I had the most fun when the time came to write up the whimsical notes that pop up for each asset.
