Process Breakdown
This piece was inspired by a 12,000-year-old rock painting found in Brazil, titled "The Kiss". Its title was based on its abstract resemblance to a kiss shared between two individuals (depicted in the bottom center of the piece). While we'll never know the true meaning behind the art, the image became widely endeared by netizens as it potentially demarcated kissing as a longstanding human practice.
Upon seeing the picture of "The Kiss", I was inspired to make a piece that paid homage to those who came before us and their tender act of love we still share today. The title of this piece comes from the Harvard Four-Drive Model which postulates that humans have four core drives—one of which is the drive to bond.
